I was very pleased to be invited onto The Suffolk Pod Show recently for a candid chat about my early days in Suffolk and Essex, education at Ipswich School and Cambridge University, my love of backgammon (a far superior game to chess, in my opinion), my globe-trotting career in international banking and finance (with the inherent ups and downs that come with such a demanding job – including something of a baptism of fire upon arriving in Asia!), family life, running (which I came to quite late but am now obsessed with), and returning to the UK to start Clear Idea Finance in the midst of a global pandemic and homeschooling! Why not, eh?
Of course, we also spend some time talking about Clear Idea and how (and why) we help our clients (business owners, entrepreneurs, property developers and investors) to secure the funding they need to grow their business, finance their next project, achieve their goals, and survive (and hopefully thrive in) the recent "mother of all rough patches!"
We also talk briefly about our sponsorship of the Ipswich School rugby team, our mission and purpose – to connect business with finance, so you can focus on running your business while we take care of the finance – and future plans for Clear Idea Finance, including further growth and expansion.
My thanks to Susanna for being such a welcoming host and asking some great questions, which hopefully teased out some interesting and insightful answers. Thanks also to Marc for his excellent behind-the-scenes production work and making my dulcet tones sound almost tolerable to my own ears.
